ProductGuardrails

Built for untrusted input.Because the internet is.

Release notes, pull requests, and web pages can carry instructions aimed at an AI. Every source is cleaned, fenced, and flagged before a model reads it, every output is checked before it is saved, and no stage that reads sources can take an action.

Sanitize

Clean it, flag it,fence it.

Fetched text is data. Before a model reads it, the platform strips what a person cannot see, flags what reads like orders, and wraps each source in a fence its contents cannot close.

  • <script> <style> <!-- -->

    Hidden content removed

Scripts, styles, comments, hidden elements, and zero-width characters are stripped, so a reader and the model see the same text.
  • ignore previous instructions

    Orders flagged

Text that tries to reassign the model, announce new instructions, ask for secrets, or hide something from the reviewer is flagged and shown to you.
  • <source trust="untrusted">

    Fences that hold

Each source is wrapped as untrusted data. Markup inside it that could close the fence or open a trusted block is defused.

Fetching

Public addresses only.Every hop, checked.

A source link cannot reach anything private. Every hop is checked before it is requested, and the connection uses the address that was checked, so a name cannot pass the check and then resolve somewhere else.

  • http and https only, with no credentials in the URL
  • Default web ports only
  • Every resolved address must be public
  • DNS is pinned between the check and the request
  • Redirects are followed by hand and checked again
  • Responses are capped in size and time and must be text

Checks

Checked after generation. Not trusted to the prompt.

Models write. Deterministic code decides what is kept. Anything that fails is sent back with the reason, and anything that still fails is never saved.

  • proofPoints.2 → openQuestions.0

    Citations enforced

A claim that cites nothing, or cites a source that does not exist, is removed from the spec and turned into an open question for you.
  • x: 291 > 280 · rewrite

    Copy guards

Channel limits, hype words, your prohibited terms, links outside the product and its sources, email addresses, and claims the spec does not contain.
  • critique: legibility · brand · spec

    Visual critique

Every render is reviewed against the spec, the brand kit, and legibility before the visuals agent may move on.
  • proposal → apply

    Revisions are proposals

AI revisions never edit in place. You see a word diff and choose what to apply.

Boundaries

An agent with limitsit cannot talk its way past.

The model decides what to do. The application decides how it is done safely. The agent is untrusted code inside a workspace it cannot name, holding no credentials and no approval rights.

  • workspace: session

    Tenancy from the session

The workspace comes from the signed-in principal that started the run, never from model output, a crawled page, or a URL.
  • tools: []

    Readers cannot act

Stages that read sources have no side-effect tools. A successful injection can only produce wrong text a person is about to review.
  • capture: registered URLs

    Narrow tools

Capture reaches only the product surface and the release source links. No tool browses freely or runs arbitrary code.
  • approve: session only

    No approval rights

Agents and API keys can draft. Approval needs a signed-in member with the right role.
  • ai:credits:monthly

    Metered

Each model call is charged what it costs, one credit per cent, and calls stop when the monthly credits run out.
  • audit: model · tokens

    Audited

Every AI action writes an audit event with the model and usage. Prompt and completion text stay out of the audit log.

Questions

Anything else? Talk to us.

What if a flagged source is still useful?
It stays in the spec as evidence. The flag tells the model the text is suspect and tells you why, so you can judge the claims that cite it.
Can a web page change which workspace a run writes to?
No. The workspace is fixed when the run starts and is never read from model output or fetched content.
Is my content used to train models?
No. Your history is retrieved at generation time to match your taste, and nothing is shared across workspaces.
How is this tested?
A deterministic scripted model runs the whole pipeline in end-to-end tests, and unit tests cover sanitizing, citation checks, and copy guards.

Sources are evidence.Never instructions.
